Commercial properties come in all shapes and sizes, each with their own roofing requirements. Whatever your commercial property is, Kidd-Luukko Corporation has the roofing system for it. In this blog, we take a look at our commercial roofing options.
Flat Roofing
We offer the following flat roofing options:
-
Modified Bitumen — Modified bitumen is similar to traditional built-up roofing (BUR) systems. It is built with alternating layers of asphalt and reinforcing fabric on top of the roofing substrate. The top is covered with a cap sheet that also serves as protection against foot traffic and impact damage.
-
PVC — PVC is more popularly known as vinyl, the same material used for making low-maintenance replacement windows and siding. As a single-ply roofing material, PVC comes in sheets, which are welded using heat. It can be installed loose-laid and weighed down by ballast, or can be adhered to the roofing substrate using adhesive. “Plastic” roofing typically comes in white, which can help reduce the heat absorbed through the roof and, in turn, reduce its cooling requirements.
-
EPDM — EPDM is also known as “rubber roofing”. Just like PVC, EPDM can be installed loosely or adhered to the roofing substrate. It can also be mechanically fastened.
Sloped Roofing
Sloped commercial roofing may not be as numerous as their flat-roofed counterparts, but certain establishments do have sloped roofs. We offer the following sloped commercial roofing options:
-
Metal — Metal roofing is one of the most durable sloped roofing options. The smooth surface efficiently sheds snow and rainwater and can withstand nearly every weather condition. Metal roofing is available in various profiles, including the standard standing-seam sheet metal, to stone-coated metal tiles that almost perfectly mimics tile roofs.
-
Shingles — Generally speaking, shingles are any roofing material installed as several overlapping rows. This means, in addition to the popular asphalt shingles, other materials like slate and wood shakes are considered as shingles. While almost always seen on residential properties, shingles on sloped commercial roofs can boost curb appeal, and add a rustic look.
